The Library is a research center, housing nearly 23 million pages of original manuscript material from Dwight D. Eisenhower and some 450 of his associates. Of the original material: 3.5 million are from the pre-presidential years, 13.5 million from the White House era, and 5 million from the years after his presidency. The military career of Dwight D. Eisenhower and related military history materials constitute a major research collection, and is the most utilized area of research.
