Original Research Experiences:

“The primary source documents were very interesting since I was then able to see exactly what Eisenhower thought and not how someone else interpreted it.”

Onsite research experiences for secondary students may be tailored to the needs of the students and the requirements of the class. Teachers who would like more information about bringing a class of students to the Eisenhower Library for original research should contact the education office.

Teacher Professional Development:

“Your staff and you worked so hard to make this a quality experience. . . everything was done with such care and expertise. I have come away with such rich resources to place in my classroom.”

Teachers come to the Eisenhower Library to research with original documents, to develop document-based curriculum, and to attend conferences and workshops on a wide variety of topics related to the life and times of Dwight D. Eisenhower and the presidency.

Distance Learning:

“This has give me another important time in history to better understand and an exciting new area to learn and read about plus teach.”

On May 5, 2004, the Eisenhower Library’s first video-conference for teachers was held at the Reader’s Digest Foundation’s Education Center on the subject of D-Day. A number of the Kansas Department of Education’s Education Service Centers broadcast the video-conference to offsite Kansas teachers. Plans are currently underway to offer more distance-learning opportunities for both teachers and students.
